Horror and wonder:
Inner and outer in both instances
In the case of wonder, there is a wonderful outer which is so compelling that it provokes an invitation into oneself, so that one can participate in and become a part of the wonder in some way. And part of what makes it so wonderful is you suspect the invitation may be mutual.
In the case of horror, the outer is a reality which has invited itself into oneself, to violate, torture, and end oneself. And the truly horrific aspect of this is one suspects, again, that the invitation may be mutual.
